Kampf scored the empty-net, championship-clinching goal in front of a home crowd in Prague.

David Kampf had a tournament he’ll never forget.

The Toronto Maple Leafs forward scored the empty-net goal which helped Czechia clinch a 2-0 victory against Switzerland to win the World Hockey Championship in Prague on Sunday.

Boston Bruins forward David Pastrnak scored the other goal for Czechia, who defeated Sweden 7-3 in the semifinal matchup to get to this point.

Other Leafs who took part in the 2024 edition of the tournament were Maple Leafs captain John Tavares. his team lost to Pontus Holmberg’s Sweden in the Bronze Medal Game.
