Toronto Maple Leafs captain John Tavares continues to do his part for Canada at the World Hockey Championship.
Tavares picked up a pair of assists as he helped Canada twice erase a deficit to defeat Finland 5-3 and remain undefeated in Group ‘A’ action on Saturday.

Tavares picked up his first assist when Canada trailed Finland 2-1, helping set up Brandon Tanev in the first period.

Midway through the third period, Tavares picked up the primary assist on Brandon Hagel’s game-winning tally.

In four games with Canada, Tavares has a goal and four assists as the team moved to 4-1-0-0 as they take on Switzerland on Sunday.
Pontus Perfection
Sweden remains unbeaten at the Worlds thanks to a 7-2 victory over Latvia.
Maple Leafs forward Pontus Holmberg picked up an assist on Sweden’s final tally of the game.

Holmberg has recorded four assists in five games. Sweden improved to 5-0-0-0 in Group ‘B’ action, three points ahead of Germany, who sit in second. Holmberg’s squad takes on France on Monday.
UPDATE: Kampf Rests Due to Injury
David Kampf did not play in Czechia’s 4-1 win again against Great Britain.
Kampf is dealing with an undisclosed injury, which is not expected to be serious. Martin Necas, who drew in for Kampf. The Carolina Hurricanes forward joined the host nation following his team’s elimination in the second round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs
Kampf has had a pretty good tournament for Czechia with four assists in five games. The Czechs improved to 4-1-1-0 for the tournament and lead Group ‘A”‘ over Switzerland and Canada by one point, however, Czechia has played six games compared to five from the other two teams.
