The Indianapolis Colts are still months away from the start of the 2024 NFL season, but we know what the schedule looks like heading into OTAs and minicamp.
We went through giving our game-by-game predictions for the upcoming campaign as the Colts look to compete in an evolving AFC South landscape.
Here’s a ranking of the games on the Colts’ schedule from toughest to easiest in 2024:
Colts’ 2024 schedule: Ranking every game by difficulty
1. Week 10: vs. Buffalo Bills
Hosting Josh Allen and the Bills offense will be a challenge for Gus Bradley’s defense. It will be a good test to see where the Colts stand midseason.
2. Week 12: vs. Detroit Lions
Probably the most complete team on the Colts’ schedule, the Lions offense is a juggernaut that plays through its exceptional offensive line.
3. Week 1: vs. Houston Texans
The revenge game. Both teams are going to come out fired up, especially the Colts after they were knocked out of playoff contention by Houston in Week 18.
4. Week 5: at Jacksonville Jaguars
The Colts’ history in Duval is brutal. They’ve lost nine consecutive games on the road against the Jaguars.
5. Week 7: vs. Miami Dolphins
Keeping up with the speed of Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle and De’Von Achane will be a tall task for the defense.
6. Week 2: at Green Bay Packers
This game might deserve to be higher on the list considering how well the Packers played in 2023. The young nucleus led by Jordan Love was impressive.
7. Week 11: at New York Jets
The team’s only prime-time game entering the season, we won’t truly know what kind of squad the Jets have with Aaron Rodgers until we get a few games into the campaign.
8. Week 4: vs. Pittsburgh Steelers
The Steelers have historically gotten the better of the Colts, but they may not be as menacing with Russell Wilson under center.
9. Week 6: at Tennessee Titans
It’s always a toss-up on the road at Tennessee, but the Colts had their number in 2023, and the jury is still out on Will Levis.
10. Week 8: at Houston Texans
This will be a fun matchup and the final time these two teams play during the regular season.
11. Week 9: at Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings will be interesting with J.J. McCarthy under center, and the threat of Justin Jefferson always makes things difficult.
12. Week 18: vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Ending the season with a matchup against the Jaguars could have playoff implications.
13. Week 3: vs. Chicago Bears
The Bears didn’t earn the No. 1 pick, but they still landed Caleb Williams. This should be a fun but winnable matchup early in the season.
14. Week 16: vs. Tennessee Titans
If the Colts are in playoff contention, this is going to be a must-win game at home.
15. Week 13: at New England Patriots
These are not the Patriots of old, but going into Foxboro is still a game that should not be slept on.
16. Week 15: at Denver Broncos
Both teams will be coming out of the bye week for this matchup, but Denver is still a massive wild card under Sean Payton.
17. Week 17: at New York Giants
The Giants are still a dysfunctional organization with depth problems. If the Colts are in playoff contention, this matchup might help their case.
