Dallas will need to break the bank to make CeeDee happy
There’s no question that the Dallas Cowboys and Jerry Jones are going to be aggressive this offseason to add key pieces, but they’ve got to make sure to take care of their own first. We’re of course talking about standout wide receiver CeeDee Lamb.
The speedster is coming off a sensational season with Dallas, taking home Second Team All-Pro honors thanks to his fantastic play. With Lamb entering the final year of his rookie contract, Dallas can’t risk letting him walk for free in 2025. That means an extension needs to be on the way, but how much could No. 88 look to bring in with a new deal?
Cowboys WR CeeDee Lamb on Micah Parsons’ @BleacherReport The Edge podcast on his next contract: “I can’t give you no numbers right now, but I’ll tell you this, one of the top paid receivers for sure, if not the (highest-paid WR). That’s always the goal.”

CeeDee Lamb is expecting to be paid like one of the top wideouts in the NFL
While Lamb doens’t have an exact figure in mind, he didn’t hesitate in saying he wants to be among the highest-paid receivers in the game. Keep in mind that Tyreek Hill signed a four-year, $120 million extension with the Dolphins not long ago.
Who knows what exactly Jones and Co. will think will be fair for Lamb, but no one can argue with the fact that he’s an absolute playmaker for this offense and he’s fully deserving of a major payday from the NFC East side.
Last season for Dallas, Lamb silenced all of the haters once and for all who have claimed he’s not a true No. 1 wideout for this team. How did Lamb shut his doubters up? By hauling in 135 receptions for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. Those are video game-type numbers from Lamb, no doubt.
With him and Dak Prescott playing so well, Dallas was able to bring home the NFC East title. Unfortunately, the Cowboys suffered a rough loss to the Packers in the Wild Card Round, closing the door on Super Bowl dreams for the 2023 season. However, it’s time to move forward and see what this squad can do in ’24.
Before Week 1 gets here, though, getting something finalized with Lamb is going to have to be at the top of the list for Dallas priorities. He’s among the best of the best at what he does with the ball in his hands and the last thing Jones needs is for offseason beef with his star WR to steal headlines. Soon enough, Lamb’s checking account is going to go up in a massive way – it has to.
