By the end of the 2023 season, the Green Bay Packers showed the NFL that their offense wouldn’t miss a beat after trading away four-time MVP quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The Packers went 7-3 in their final 10 games of the season, which included a dominant Wild Card win over the Dallas Cowboys.
Now the Packers have made yet another addition to their offense.
The Green Bay Packers Sign Addition To Offense
Eddie Gordon has been hired as an assistant offensive line coach by Green Bay Packers coach Matt LaFleur, according to 247 Sports.
In 2023, Gordon coached the offensive line at UAB after helping shape Georgia’s powerhouse offensive line.
“We are so lucky to get Eddie Gordon to join our staff here at UAB,” UAB coach and former NFL quarterback Trent Dilfer said last year. “Eddie was instrumental in the development of two national championship offensive lines. He is wildly respected in the offensive line community and was a key part of Georgia’s success over the past few years.”
Gordon worked as a graduate assistant for the Bulldogs’ offensive line from 2019-2021 and as a quality control coach in 2022. In addition to winning back-to-back titles, Georgia was in a New Year’s Six bowl all four seasons while Gordon was there, including wins in the 2019 Sugar Bowl and the 2020 Peach Bowl.
Under Georgia’s dominant run in which they were 29-1, they ranked fourth nationally in sacks allowed in 2022 and sixth nationally in 2021. They also were in the top 20 in rushing offense.
Gordon spent two seasons at Louisiana prior to joining Georgia (2017-18). During 2017, he was the Ragin’ Cajuns’ offensive line graduate assistant, and in 2018, he was the team’s director of player development and assistant strength and conditioning coach.
