To make a legit run at a three-peat, however, the Chiefs need to make an upgrade at wide receiver.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/heavy.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2024\/02\/GettyImages-1570446011-e1708912467800.jpg?quality=65&amp;strip=all&amp;w=780\" alt=\"Nikko Remigio\" \/><\/p>\n<p>However, there\u2019s a young receiver already on the team ready for a breakout. Arrowhead Live reminded Chiefs Kingdon that\u00a0Nikko Remigio, who spent the season on injured reserve, is ready to make his mark.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cNikko Remigio will be on the 53 next year as the primary kick and punt returner [in my opinion],\u201d\u00a0Arrowhead Live posted\u00a0on February 23. \u201cAs fans, I think we should be factoring him in as it relates to FA and draft.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Brad Henson Productions\u00a0posted afterward, \u201cI totally forgot about Nikko Remigio! The 25-year-old receiver and special teams stud quickly impressed during training camp.\u00a0The Athletic\u2019s Nate Taylor\u00a0posted last summer, \u201cAll right, I\u2019ve seen enough: It\u2019s time for Nikko Remigio to get more repetitions with the 2nd-team offense.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>During the Chiefs\u2019 preseason opener against the New Orleans Saints, Remigio caught four receptions for 71 yards. In addition to returning a kickoff and a punt, he caught a 24-yard reception from quarterback Shane Buechele and a 22-yard catch from Chris Oladokun.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe had a nice game,\u201d Chiefs head coach Andy Reid said of Remigio, per\u00a0The Kansas City Star. \u201cDid some really good thing specials teams-wise and in the throwing game.\u201d However, Remigio suffered a wrist injury at practice a few days later. After moving up on the depth chart over former first-rounder Anthony Hancock, Paige made his mark.<\/p>\n<p>During his 9-year tenure in Kansas City, Paige recorded 377 receptions for 6,341 yards and 49 touchdowns. In four seasons with the Golden Bears, he recorded\u00a097 receptions\u00a0for 903 yards and seven touchdowns. Remigio also tallied 45 punt returns for 344 yards and 20 kickoff returns for 549 yards and one touchdown.<\/p>\n<div id=\"AdThrive_Content_6_desktop\" class=\"adthrive-ad adthrive-content adthrive-content-6 adthrive-ad-cls\" data-google-query-id=\"CIfyzteXyIQDFcnqFgUdtlsCcg\"><\/div>\n<p>After transferring to Fresno State for his final year of eligibility, the 5-foot-9 receiver made 74 catches for 852 yards and six touchdowns. He made 13 punt returns for 259 yards and two scores, along with 21 kick returns for 280 yards.<\/p>\n<h2>Chiefs Wide Receiver\/Kick &amp; Punter Returner Nikko Remigio Going Undrafted was a Surprise<\/h2>\n<div id=\"fad0a0a50e1f2e14fc8b95598aee34dc\" class=\"embed_container\">\n<div class=\"lazy-embed lazy-embed--ssr embed-instagram-com lazy-embed--loaded\" data-url=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/p\/C3O90ehrFae\/\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>The Chiefs landing Remigio was seen as a steal.\u00a0NFL analyst Anand Nanduri\u00a0posted in May 2023, \u201cI have no idea how Nikko Remigio didn\u2019t get drafted. UDFA now for the Chiefs. The rich get richer.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Chiefs wide receiver\u00a0Rashee Rice\u00a0told The Kansas City Star last summer, \u201cNikko Remigio, that\u2019s my boy. He\u2019s been killing it. For him to go undrafted, I don\u2019t really understand why. But he\u2019s been showing everybody why he should have been drafted.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>With both\u00a0Richie James\u00a0and\u00a0Mecole Hardman\u00a0set to become unrestricted free agents in March, there\u2019s an opening on special teams. However, Remigio will face competition at camp this summer.
